I have wanted skylights in our family room FOREVER!!! They are such a great option when windows can’t be added. And the idea of “smart anything” always gets the hubby interested ? can’t wait to see this project come to life for you guys!

Good questions! The good/bad news is that probably 70% of what is currently in the attic can exit our lives forever. The Christmas/seasonal decor takes up the largest portion of what’s left, and we have a few options for that. We may subdivide the space to make a storage area OR there are actually two more doors to separate attic spaces off the gameroom. Neither are as open or large and each has an HVAC unit in it (one for upstairs and one for downstairs), but with some planning I think either (or both) could be turned into nice organized storage! And frankly NOT being able to rely on the huge open space to toss things in would be good – we’d deal with things more promptly.

But Melissa, where are you going to store all your attic stuff? I’m confident the “queen of storage” has everything under control.
