Hi Lisa, I cut the letters out of the cardstock with a Silhouette Cameo machine, which uses a little blade to cut whatever you design on the computer. The graph looking paper is called transfer paper and just helps move the letters all at once. As an alternative, you could definetely use pre-cut letter stickers or stencils from the craft store to get the words on your sign. Thanks for reading!
