Welcome to Calvary Lutheran Church
Pastor’s Keyboard’s ClickingWe recognize the season of Lent as a time to dedicate ourselves to self-introspection, for simplifying our lives, and centering on the focus our faith provides. It is a season that is involved in preparation for the most important day on the Christian calendar – Easter. Easter is the day of triumph of life over death. It is the day that makes known that Jesus’ life is the acceptable model for our own living. We have the promise that His Spirit will fill us, enabling us to use the gifts we have been given so we can be all that we are meant to be. There are a number of people who have made special contributions to our Christian heritage. They have found the fortitude and taken up opportunities to follow Jesus with the gifts they have. For many, the church has set aside a day commemorating what they contributed. We do not know all that much about most of these people and have never heard of their day. I thought I would share a few of those individuals with you who a date meant to provide them tribute from the church. March 1 – George Herbert March 7 – Perpetua and Felicity March 17 – Patrick (This guy you know!) March 22 – Jonathan Edwards That’s probably enough history. For now just consider what good you can do this March.
